On Monday morning, an eighth grader poured gasoline around the medical room of the Pham Ngu Lao Secondary School in Ninh Hoa town of Khanh Hoa province. The blaze broke quickly and the girls` legs were burned.

Many students who witnessed the incident did not dissuade the girl but stimulated and ridiculed her. When the fire flared up, they were frightened and ran away. The scene was filmed and posted on the social network.

The school’s principal Pham Dinh Lam said the girl who burned the room is an 8th grader from another school.

Lam said that day the school did not open because it was thevweekend, except for an extra class for gifted students.

"The girl entered the school via the side door, with a plastic bag containing gasoline. The school guards mistook her as a student of our school so she was not detected," said the principal.

He said the medical room is located 60m from the side door and hadlittle damage.

According to Lam, the girl lives not far from the school. Earlier she stated on her Facebook page that she would burn the school near her house if she collected 1,000 likes.

Local police are investigating the case.

Doing silly things to haveFacebook likes has become popular among Vietnamese youth. Not long ago a man in HCM City burned himself and jumped in a canal for the same reason.

Experts have warned that many young people are spending more and more time in their virtual life than the real one.
